In Japan, people have revered shining objects like the sun and moon since ancient times. When I encounter a special subject, I capture its light by holding it in my hand and taking a picture. I named this technique "TELENS," which stands for "hand lens" in Japanese. By placing my hand on the aperture of the camera body with no lens, I adjust the exposure by how tightly I hold my hand and take the photo. The red pigment from the skin and blood in my hand, myoglobin and hemoglobin, seep through to create the red color in the photo. It's a personal photographic expression that blends body expression and photography. It is difficult to form a clear image, and success depends on the subject with strong memories or love. I do not use any digital editing in my work.

私は新しい写真技術「TELENS（手レンズ）」を開発しました。日本語の「手（TE）」と「レンズ」を組み合わせた造語です。この技法では、手を裸でカメラの露出口に当て、手で露光時間を調整して撮影します。肉眼では見えない赤い色素（ミオグロビンとヘモグロビン）が手から透けて写り込むため、赤い色が出ます。私の写真作品は全てデジタル加工をせず、被写体に特別な思い入れがある場所や人物を撮影しています。この技法は、写真家とカメラと被写体が一体となって作品を創り上げる新しい写真表現です。
